Reading this article that I found in New York Times, you can see the editors of the news paper are trying to establish the non-supporters view and opposition of President Bush’s Iraq Policy. The author tries to show the people’s opinion by stating “People in the United States already were angry about the war before Bush said he would try to bring unrelentingly violent Iraq back from the brink by adding 21,500 more U.S. troops to the 132,000 there now.”, so this allows the people who are undecided to follow the majority and to influence the people to go against President Bush’s Iraq Policy. “Even Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki had to be persuaded to go along with a larger U.S. presence in Baghdad.”, this is another way the author tries to influence the people by showing the people President Bush’s Iraq Policy is not the right way to resolve problems that even the Prime Minister of Iraq had to think twice and get persuaded. Basically this article relates to Dexter article as well. The author is trying to influence the people to go against President Bush’s Iraq Policy.

Great Find Kenneth! This is a good post. The NY times is more prestegious then the Philidelphia daily news, but they still convey the same message. The only real difference is that the New York times is less biased. That may be because they HAVE to be, but they are none the less. The fact that the first thing they start with is a summary of a quote by George W. Bush really shows the reader through that comment that he was pretty much giving people almost a foreshadowwing of the future, knowing that the decisions he would make would not be favored by the general population. Since this is the second post in which we look at negative views of Bush, shouldn't we try to find one's that support Bush?
This is a perfect example kenneth of how the author is trying to influence people. The author is writing peoples opinions so others can relate. The author is clearly trying to get everyone to disagree with Bush.
