Challenges to Bush's Iraq Policy Gain Dramatic Momentum

According to this article the auther is trying to establish the desicions of bush and his iraq policy. The auther is saying that bush is facing man issues that he is tring to keep it undercover. At the same time to people of united states do not want the bush administration to go any further with what it did. The auther is tring to show that with the dicision bush made to start mounting bodies and send them to iraq and also a focus on the faulty intelligence used to justify the war, is not liked or do his assistance think that it will be successfulleven after the iraq approval of the iraq constitution. I agree with the auther in this part of the article.

The author relates his methods to those used in the Cold War saying that Bush should not take a chance with matters of national security. The author also says that bush is a gambler and that the stakes are to high. "And the misplaced gambler's instinct is especially evident in the administration's plan to send more troops into Bagdahd..........is a mistake because it is piling more precious chips -- more human lives -- on what so far has been a losing bet." It is obvious that the author is trying to convince people that Bush's policies will not prevale and that he wants people to disagree with his methods. Even as the passege goes on the author keeps using the word risky and even relates his policy to the Cold War a second time. This author is trying to show you that Bush's policy is one big chance rather one roll of the dice hoping to get lucky.

Reading this article that I found in the USAToday, the author mainly shows Bush's view of this situtation, you can see that the editors is trying to gain the support from the non-supporters of President Bush's Iraq Policy. The author quotes Bush saying "The situation in Iraq is unacceptable to the American people, and it is unacceptable to me," Bush said. "Where mistakes have been made, the responsibility rests with me." The reason the author shows this is because the author is trying to get the people to give another chance to fix his mistake. The author also says "Bush described the consequences of failure for Iraq and the United States: radical Islamic extremists growing in strength in the Middle East, and terror rising throughout the world." By stating this in the article, this poses a threat to the people. A threat brought up by bush.

Bush has been given 2 to 3 months by the Iraqi people for this new policy to work. Bush recently ordered 20,000 more troops to go overseas. He recently stated that his last policy didn't work and mistakes were made. The author of this article Clive Myrie of BBC News says that Bush's new policy has to work or some of the Iraqi people will give up on the United States. They are upset that the last few policies have not been working. Some groups say the new policy is a disastorous idea. The Iraqi people are getting sick of the violence.

Reading this article that I found in New York Times, you can see the editors of the news paper are trying to establish the non-supporters view and opposition of President Bush’s Iraq Policy. The author tries to show the people’s opinion by stating “People in the United States already were angry about the war before Bush said he would try to bring unrelentingly violent Iraq back from the brink by adding 21,500 more U.S. troops to the 132,000 there now.”, so this allows the people who are undecided to follow the majority and to influence the people to go against President Bush’s Iraq Policy. “Even Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki had to be persuaded to go along with a larger U.S. presence in Baghdad.”, this is another way the author tries to influence the people by showing the people President Bush’s Iraq Policy is not the right way to resolve problems that even the Prime Minister of Iraq had to think twice and get persuaded. Upon even reading this article found in the pages of Philidelphia's Daily news newspaper, it is apparent to a reader that the editors of the news paper have a clear opinion on President Bush and his Policies. In the first sentence, The author is suggesting that our president to our president is a child by deeming his new Iraq policy as a "do-over." One does not even have to read the rest of the article to know that it will contain numerous rants and bashings against Bush and his policy. He goes on to give reasons why Bush's plan wont work and is even so brash to say "America must realize that this is our last chance to keep President Bush from making Iraq into our new Vietnam." Whether or not this was posted in the paper as an editorial or an actual article, one thing is certain: These guys don't like Bush, and they want to convince you not to like Bush.
